Job Description

1. Job Summary:



The Training Officer is responsible for the full operational and training function of the Shaping Champions Hub. This includes the day-to-day management of the office, conducting stock take, maintaining training materials and equipment, and delivering a structured 6-week upliftment and skills development course.

The primary aim of the programme is to equip unemployed individuals with the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills to enter the job market.

3. Key Tasks:



Venue Management



Open and close the satellite office daily, ensuring safety and security protocols are followed. Oversee general upkeep and cleanliness of the training venue. Conduct regular stock takes and maintain inventory of training materials, supplies, and equipment. Report any maintenance or supply needs to the head office.

Administration



Register 12 suitable learners per intake, in alignment with programme criteria. Conduct orientation sessions and ensure all learners understand programme expectations. Maintain accurate attendance registers and learner records. Be responsible for managing transport money and petty cash. Submit weekly progress and attendance reports to the head office.

Training Delivery and Facilitation



Facilitate the 6-week programme (Shaping Champions Empowerment Programme and Workplace Skills Programme) using only the provided curriculum and training materials. Coach individuals on cultivating values and morals that contribute to their personal growth Create an inclusive, encouraging, and interactive learning environment. Monitor learner progress and provide additional support or guidance where necessary. Use a variety of training methods (presentations, role-playing, group discussions, etc.).

Learner Development and Job Readiness



Support learners in building their CVs, practicing interview techniques, and developing workplace etiquette. Host mock interviews and job-readiness activities. Motivate and mentor learners, especially those facing socio-economic challenges. Developing Progression Plans: Create progression plans for workshop attendees to track their progress throughout the process. Outline specific goals and actionable steps, enabling participants to track their progress and stay motivated on their growth journey. Network with local employers or organisations to highlight job opportunities when possible and communicate findings with the Project Coordinator.

Other Requirements



Compliance with all Company Policies and applicable legislation. Working cell phone with Whatsapp functionality to be used for communication

4. Essential Qualifications



Matric

5. Desirable Qualifications



Various courses on human behaviour and mind science Certificate in Training NLP certification Qualifications in education training/development, human resources development, psychology, community development or social work, AET (Adult Education and Training) Qualification or courses in Education, Training and Development Practices (ETDP SETA accredited), Assessor and/or Moderator certifications.

6. Experience



Minimum 2 years' experience in Coaching/Facilitation

7. Physical Activities



Demonstrations during facilitation.

Responsible for petty cash withdrawal and safekeeping, and purchasing daily bread supplies for the hub.

8. When and where will the job be performed



Monday - Friday 08h00 - 17h00

Possible Weekends as and when requested or required by Operations

Training Sites are determined by the Project Manager. Training Officers may be requested to move to an alternate site should the operation so require, without consultation.

Upon completion of a training cycle, the Training Officer will be expected to report to Head Office (Benoni) for an evaluative period.
