Job Summary Our client, a Leader in the Multi-media Space is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Communications Officer to be base in Midrand, Gauteng. PLEASE NOTE : Our client specialises in managing and enhancing the internal and external communication strategies of organizations. They play a pivotal role in crafting and conveying the organizations messages to its audience through various mediums such as press releases, social media, newsletters, and more. MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE : The role involves fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, media personnel, and the public while ensuring alignment with the organizations goals and brand identity. KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS : At minimum a Bachelors Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field is required. At least 1-2 years of experience in a communications role or related field is preferred. Experience in content creation, social media management, and public relations is beneficial. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), graphic design software, and analytics tools can be advantageous. Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate messages clearly and effectively. Strong relationship-building skills for liaising with media, stakeholders, and internal teams. Proficiency in managing and growing social media platforms. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies using analytics tools. Ability to create compelling and engaging content tailored for different audiences and platforms. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and craft appropriate communication responses quickly. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Develop, write, and edit compelling content including press releases, newsletters, speeches, and articles that align with the organizational strategy. Manage the organizations online presence through website content, blogs, and social media posts. Foster relationships with journalists, influencers, and media houses. Respond to media inquiries and arrange interviews or press conferences as needed. Facilitate internal communication strategies to ensure employees are well-informed of organizational updates, initiatives, and policies. Ensure that all communications adhere to the organizations branding guidelines and voice. Assist in the development and maintenance of brand identity materials. Manage and grow the organizations presence on social media platforms. Assist in organizing and promoting events such as press conferences, webinars, and promotional events.
