:About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use): 11The Team: This role is part of the 20+ member Strategic Engagement & Intelligence team, which is a part of `Platts Market Development & Engagement Group (MD&E). The Africa Lead for market engagement will be responsible for developing an engagement strategy for the Africa region, incorporating our 11 commodity pricing sectors and their interests in the region. In addition to developing and adapting Platts benchmark engagement strategy/plans, the role will help to direct execution of our outreach, setting up meetings, attending meetings and events, networking, and bringing in other key Platts experts to the region as needed. The Africa Engagement Lead will lead external engagement meetings in support of Platts commodity pricing, gather market intelligence in support of both existing pricing benchmarks relevant to the region and new pricing and market insight initiatives in the region. The successful candidate will represent MRTS/Platts at key meetings and work on special projects as needed by the commodity pricing teams, collaborating across the MD&E group.The Impact: The Africa SEIG Lead will play a critical role in elevating Platts' visibility across key African commodity markets, driving benchmark development through educating markets on the relevance of physical benchmarks and establishing Platts as a thought leader on commodity markets. This role will be engaged in regular outreach as prioritized in the Africa Strategic Engagement Plan.What's in it for you:Cross-departmental visibility (commercial, marketing, client services, MRTS, eWindow, 11 commodity pricing groups, and product).Lead meetings and presentations for middle, senior, and C-suite managers of major companies, trading houses, industry associations, and government officials.Develop and lead our go-to-market engagement strategy for commodity pricing across Africa.Create strategic messaging for our African engagements and distill and activate intelligence gathered during these engagements.Leadership experience.Responsibilities:Lead engagement strategy planning with regional and global teams.Extensive travel across the continent to represent our company at prestigious events, fostering relationships with influential companies, regulators, and government entities.Identify and participate in key energy/commodity events across Africa.Present at key internal/external events in the region.Collaborate with the commercial team on the Value Add program.Contribute to social media content development (blogs, podcasts, webinars).Lead development of commodity sources across the region.Raise Platts visibility in key markets across Africa.Develop new contacts and relationships across Africa commodity markets.Lead best practices for market engagement, ensuring continuous improvement across the content teams.What We're Looking For:Required Qualifications:Solid understanding of African and global commodities markets.Understanding of physical benchmark pricing.Previous experience engaging clients or market sources.Strong leadership and influencing skills.Excellent planning and time management skills.Strong communication skills, including public speaking experience, good listening skills, and strong written and oral capabilities.Strong critical thinking skills.Willingness to travel approximately 40%.Basic Qualifications:Undergraduate degree with master's degree is preferable.Multilingual capabilities are a plus (French, Swahili, Arabic).Market pricing experience with a good understanding of trade flows and the workings of global commodities markets.Strong Power Skills: effective communication skills, strategic and critical thinking, leadership, high emotional intelligence, problem-solving and adaptability.The ability to transform opportunity into action by being creative, proactive, and decisive.Ability to work independently but in collaboration with a global team.Proven track record and ability to execute and collaborate across multiple teams.Good time management and planning capabilities.About S&P Global Commodity Insights
