Description
The Commis Chef will support senior chefs with daily food preparation, mise en place, and kitchen operations, contributing to exceptional dining experiences that delight guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with deliveries and stock rotation
- Complete daily mise en place checks to ensure freshness and quality
- Maintain strict hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of workstations, utensils, and equipment
- Follow kitchen procedures and service standards at all times
- Maintain knowledge of menus, daily features, and promotions
- Culinary Certificate or Diploma
- 1-2 years' experience as a Commis Chef in a 5-star or luxury restaurant environment preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Self-disciplined, efficient, and able to cope under pressure
- Flexible, accountable, and team-oriented
