Commercial Director - Bryanston, Johannesburg (hybrid).
This strategic leadership role is responsible for shaping commercial strategy, driving profitability, and ensuring operational excellence in complex deal structuring.
The Director: Commercial Architecture will lead a team of senior commercial architects and managers, overseeing deal governance, pricing strategy, and commercial compliance across the business.
The role works closely with sales and finance leadership to deliver competitive, risk-managed proposals that align with business and client objectives.
Salary: R1.8 million p.a. / STI: 50% of annual salary / LTI : TBC.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, or related field
Master's or MBA preferred
Extensive commercial leadership experience, preferably within global IT services or technology environments
Deep knowledge of commercial deal structuring, revenue recognition, and contract negotiation
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing commercial teams
Strategic thinker with advanced problem-solving, financial, and analytical skills
Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Experience working with Salesforce.com and commercial governance frameworks
Proven track record of driving business transformation and managing organisational change
In-depth understanding of compliance standards, industry regulations, and risk analysis
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and review of high-value client proposals and commercial deal structures
Ensure alignment with internal commercial policies, governance standards, and approval workflows
Collaborate with sales and finance teams to evaluate deal costs, structure terms, and drive client value
Implement and oversee commercial governance frameworks, metrics, and compliance mechanisms
Drive innovative deal architecture that balances competitiveness with risk mitigation
Monitor pricing strategy effectiveness and lead continuous improvements in deal performance
Mentor and coach the commercial team on deal execution and process optimisation
Guide stakeholders through complex contractual negotiations and commercial assessments
Promote a culture of accuracy, agility, and operational discipline within the commercial function
