About the role







We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Business Analyst to join our team in Cape Town.





The ideal candidate will play a key supporting role in growing and driving Cambridge University Press and Assessment's Sub-Saharan Africa business performance by delivering


Data-led actionable insights; Improved reporting; Supporting strategic initiatives, and Optimizing commercial decision-making.




You will collaborate across departments to analyze financial performance, market trends, customer behavior and pricing strategies.





You will thrive in this changing environment, be motivated by delivering excellent business insights to our teams and will enjoy being part of a high performing team.




About you







As our next Commercial Business Analyst, you'll bring deep expertise in financial systems and a proven ability to deliver high-quality insights and reporting across multiple data sources. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, combining precision with strategic thinking to drive business performance and support key decision-making.




To succeed in this role, you'll need:




At least 3 years of experience in a commercial, financial, or business analyst role with a strong focus on financial systems Strong knowledge of ERP platforms, accounting software, and financial reporting tools Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems such as Bookmaster, SAP, or similar platforms Solid understanding of IFRS, with experience in SQL or other data querying languages advantageous Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines Strong organizational skills and analytical problem-solving capabilities Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders
