ROLE SUMMARY:

To adopt an aspirant view to students in their care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to them. To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes deep learning. To serve the community. Behave in a professional manner with regard to punctuality, behaviour, and standards of work. Consistently evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice. Continuously seek professional development. Teach extra lessons, when required, on two afternoons per week. Be actively engaged in the afternoon programme for a minimum of two afternoons per week. Write informative report comments. To undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head / Deputy Head of Academics fairly determine.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Lives Passion with a Plan applied over Time Able to set clear expectations and stretching goals Adaptable style that drives for high performance Ability to judge learning effectiveness A minimum of three years' experience Teaching IsiXhosa at a FET level (Gr10 - 12) The ability to teach another high school subject would be advantageous The ability to contribute to a high performing tea Previous experience with the IEB programme Confidence with use of ICT in teaching Appropriate legal right to work in a South African school University degree in an appropriate subject
