Full accountability for mould lifecycle management:
Design input
Manufacturing / refurbishment
Inspection and retirement
Ensure mould quality supports IS machine efficiency and container quality.
Control mould costs, repair turnaround times, and spares strategy.
Implement standardised mould maintenance practices and traceability.
Drive
continuous improvement
in mould life and defect prevention.
Ensure safe operation of:
CNC machines
Welding, polishing, coating and heat-treatment processes
People & Leadership
Lead and develop:
Cold-end artisans & technicians
Mouldshop artisans, toolmakers, and apprentices
Build succession pipelines and scarce-skill retention.
Drive discipline in maintenance execution and shift handovers.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and craftsmanship.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment on reliability initiatives and goals.
Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress on reliability projects to management and stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience:
Sc. /B.Eng. (Mechanical/Electrical) - NQF 7
Government Certificate of Competence an advantage
Strong understanding of reliability cantered engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
Knowledge and application of lean methodology principles.
Proficiency in statistical analysis software and reliability modelling techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with glass manufacturing processes is a plus.
