COLD STORE MANAGER - Blackheath, Western Cape
R25 000 - R30 000 P/M PLUS Overtime
Start: ASAP | Hours: Mon-Fri, some Sat/Public Holidays
Our Client, an established and reputable Frozen Fish Manufacturer seeking a proactive Cold Store Manager to lead daily operations of their cold storage facility.
This hands-on role balances floor management with administrative oversight, ensuring efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily cold store operations including receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods.
• Lead and supervise 5-10 direct reports (supervisors, team leaders, drivers, admin staff) and approximately 70 indirect staff.
• Maintain consistent temperature standards at -18 C and ensure compliance with HACCP, Health & Safety, and PPECB regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels, maintain stock accuracy, and prepare regular performance reports.
• Oversee equipment maintenance (internally and through external service providers).
• Review, update, and streamline operational processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure all dispatch and documentation processes are completed timeously.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the cold store.
• Work extensively with MACRO management systems and Microsoft Excel/Word for reporting and control.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years' cold store/warehouse management (fish or food industry preferred)
• Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Operations, or Supply Chain preferred (Matric + experience considered)
• Knowledge of cold-chain logistics, HACCP, PPECB, and MACRO systems
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's licence & own transport
