Stellenbosch Central and/or Jonkershoek, Stellenbosch (note that you need to live in Stellenbosch or have transport to be at work at 6am)

Job Overview:

We are a premium grab & go food experience. We need efficient and friendly team members with warm personalities and huge smiles to take care of our customer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Promote and sell our food offering at the counter:

Assist customers at the counter to place orders, pay and pack their purchases. Prepare and serve fresh pastries and light snacks, ensuring quality and timely service alongside coffee beverages.

Customer Engagement:

Form friendly connections with customers, encouraging regulars and newcomers to feel at home in the coffee bar. Provide expert recommendations based on customers' preferences and seasonal specialties. Support the team by taking certain items to customer tables, and clearing away.

Equipment use and care:

Regularly maintain and clean our service equipment (toasters, air fryer eyc) ensuring optimal performance and hygiene. Stay informed about equipment operation and troubleshooting common issues, adjusting techniques as necessary. Be knowledgeable about food safety standards and maintain cleanliness in all preparation areas.

POS Management:

Handle payments accurately and efficiently, processing transactions on the POS and taking card payments.

Team Collaboration:

Work cohesively with the team and other baristas to create an efficient workflow, sharing responsibilities during busy periods.

Qualifications:

As a person you need to be punctual, communicative, tidy and efficient. Solid experience in a busy coffee shop is a minimum requirement. Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with a diverse customer base. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

You need to be available for early morning shifts and weekends. No nights shifts. Capacity to stand for long hours and perform physically demanding tasks when necessary.
