ButtaNutt is looking for a Code 14 Driver to join our logistics team.

Key Responsibilities

Drivers in ButtaNutt typically perform a range of duties, including:

Operating a vehicle safely

: Adhering to traffic laws and company safety standards, considering road and weather conditions, and being courteous to other drivers .

Transporting Goods

: Delivery drivers are tasked with loading, transporting, and delivery of items such as raw materials or finished products to clients/customers/retails/distribution centres or other business locations. They must adhere to the assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.

Loading and unloading goods

: Assisting with the careful handling of items during loading and unloading processes.

Route planning and optimization

: Planning efficient routes to ensure timely and safe delivery, and collaborating with teams to optimize schedules. Familiarity with local areas, including streets and highways, and using GPS for navigation is often required.

Documentation

: Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, signatures, trip sheets, delivery notes, and any issues encountered. This may also include maintaining delivery logs and reports. Making sure POD are given to the Administration/Sales team for each order.

Customer service

: Providing excellent customer service, communicating clearly with customers, resolving delivery issues, and representing the company professionally .

Vehicle maintenance

: Ensuring the delivery vehicle is maintained and roadworthy. Some roles may also involve receiving stock from delivery vehicles in a warehouse

Compliance with Regulation

: Delivery drivers must follow all transportation laws and safety regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation(DOT)in South Africa. This include adhering to the speed limits and other traffic rules.

Required Skills and Qualifications

:

Valid Driver's License

: A clean driver's license is essential. This often specifies a Code 14. For heavier vehicles, a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) is typically required .

Driving Experience

: Employers often look for candidates with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of driving experience, particularly in delivery or logistics operations.

Physical Capability

: The ability to lift and carry heavy orders and operate a vehicle for prolonged periods is often necessary.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

: Strong verbal communication, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues are important.

Organizational Skills

: Attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple orders and delivery locations, and a mindset for organization are beneficial.
