Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Safely transport goods from the warehouse to stores according to scheduled routes and timelines. Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any faults or maintenance needs. Load and offload products, ensuring accurate counts and secure packaging. Maintain accurate delivery records, including delivery notes and trip sheets. Follow all road regulations and company transport policies. Maintain cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle. Communicate with dispatch and store personnel to confirm delivery details or report delays. Ensure all documentation is signed off correctly upon delivery. Adhere to health and safety protocols during loading/unloading and deliveries.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's licence with professional driving permit (PrDP). Minimum 5 years of Code 14 driving experience (long- distance/local deliveries preferred). Proven experience in delivery driving and basic vehicle maintenance. Good knowledge of routes and road laws in South Africa. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if required. Physically fit and able to lift/move goods. Clear criminal and driving record. Contactable references Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable and punctual.
Preference will be given but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
