Job Description
:
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport goods from the warehouse to stores according to scheduled routes and timelines.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any faults or maintenance needs.
- Load and offload products, ensuring accurate counts and secure packaging.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including delivery notes and trip sheets.
- Follow all road regulations and company transport policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle.
- Communicate with dispatch and store personnel to confirm delivery details or report delays.
- Ensure all documentation is signed off correctly upon delivery.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols during loading/unloading and deliveries.
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's licence with professional driving permit (PrDP).
- Minimum 5 years of Code 14 driving experience (long- distance/local deliveries preferred).
- Proven experience in delivery driving and basic vehicle maintenance.
- Good knowledge of routes and road laws in South Africa.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if required.
- Physically fit and able to lift/move goods.
- Clear criminal and driving record.
- Contactable references
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
