Job Title: Code 10 Driver

Job Purpose

The company is seeking a reliable and experienced Code 10 Driver to support our logistics and distribution functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for local and long-distance deliveries, including the transportation of goods in vans, 10-ton, within South Africa The role includes running errands, transporting staff during overtime, and maintaining high standards of vehicle care, safety, and customer interaction.

Minimum Requirements

Valid Code 10 Driver's License with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP). Matric Must have a valid passport Minimum of 3 years' experience driving light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles. Proven experience in long-distance and cross-border transport is highly advantageous. Clear driving record and criminal background check. Ability to lift and move heavy items safely. Knowledge of road safety regulations, cross-border customs protocols, and logistics practices. Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays, including overnight stays.

Strong knowledge of South African and SADC regional road networks. Excellent time management and navigation skills. High level of attention to detail and safety awareness. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proactive, responsible, and dependable. Ability to work well independently and under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Transport & Delivery Duties

Transport packages, equipment, and hardware materials to and from destinations as per delivery schedules. Operate Code 10 , including vans, medium, and heavy-duty trucks (10-ton). Perform local deliveries and long-distance trips across South Africa and into neighbouring countries such as Botswana and Lesotho. Drop off staff members after overtime shifts or upon request, as per internal transport schedules. Ensure on-time arrival at all destinations while maintaining safety and compliance.

Route Planning & Navigation

Research and plan for traffic patterns, construction zones, weather delays, and detours to ensure optimal routes. Use navigation applications and tools to determine the most efficient routes for deliveries and collections. Accurately follow designated or optimized delivery routes and schedules.

Administrative & Operational Support

Fulfil administrative transport needs, such as office pickups, document delivery, and supply collections. Interact with clients, customers, and staff professionally at all times, ensuring a positive company image. Maintain and submit accurate trip sheets, mileage logs, and delivery documentation.

Vehicle Maintenance & Safety

Ensure that the vehicle is always fuelled, clean, and ready for operational use. Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical or safety concerns to management. Communicate necessary repairs or services in coordination with the fleet or maintenance department. Keep detailed records of mileage, vehicle conditions, and all repair/maintenance activities.

Pay: R8000,00 - R8500,00 per month
