Job Title: DevOps/Cloud Engineer (Contract)

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced

DevOps/Cloud Engineer

to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll be responsible for building, automating, and maintaining the infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines that power our applications. You'll work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and security across our cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, etc.). Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for cost and reliability. Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code practices and tools. Ensure systems are compliant with security and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with developers and QA to streamline deployments and improve workflows.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a DevOps or Cloud Engineer (or similar role). Strong hands-on experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar). Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar). Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch). Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar). Solid understanding of networking, security, and best practices for cloud deployments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience implementing security controls and compliance standards. Knowledge of serverless architectures and microservices. Familiarity with automated testing in CI/CD workflows. Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: R800,00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
