We are seeking an experienced Cloud and Identity Manager to lead the delivery, optimization, and governance of the enterprise Azure cloud platform and identity services for our client based in Port Elizabeth. This role plays a critical part in enabling secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud operations while empowering application teams through automation and self-service capabilities. The successful candidate will drive Azure platform excellence with a strong focus on FinOps, automation, governance, and Zero Trust identity management, ensuring the cloud environment supports business growth, innovation, and operational resilience.
Responsibilities

• Own and manage day-to-day operations and strategic evolution of enterprise Azure environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and performance.

• Design and govern Azure platform architecture, including landing zones, networking, shared services, and management groups.

• Establish and enforce Azure governance standards, including RBAC, Azure Policy, tagging, naming conventions, and security baselines.

• Lead cloud financial management (FinOps), driving cost transparency, optimisation, forecasting, and reporting.

• Implement automation-first cloud operations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Enable secure self-service provisioning for application teams through standardised templates and guardrails.

• Monitor platform performance and reliability, implementing proactive alerting, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Oversee enterprise identity and access management across Active Directory, Entra ID, and hybrid environments.

• Support Zero Trust and identity protection initiatives, including Conditional Access, MFA, and Silverfort integration.

• Lead and develop a global team of cloud and identity engineers, managing priorities, capacity, and delivery.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture, finance, and application teams to align cloud strategy with business objectives.

• Support cloud and identity integration activities during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or related.

• 8+ years experience in Azure Cloud Engineering or Platform Operation.

• Experience with people management.

• Strong experience with Azure services, governance and platform design.

• Experience implementing FinOps Practices in Azure.

• Experience building automation and self-service cloud platforms.

• Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, Conditional Access and MFA.

• Familiarity with Silverfort or similar Identity Security Platforms.

• Experience with Automation (PowerShell, Bicep/ARM and CI/CD pipelines).
