Job Description

A vacancy exists for a Clinical Technologist and based at RenalPro Dialysis Centre, Malvern Durban, reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care to renal patients in order to maximize a positive outcome for the patient in line with Company and medical strategic objectives.

-Competent in rendering of chronic dialysis treatment modalities & other procedures stipulated in the scope of practice for clinical technologist specializing in nephrology.

-Provide direct & indirect nursing care, quality patient care in accordance with company procedures & policies.

-Manage & maintain all physical equipment

-Ensure patient clinic records are maintained & updated at all times

Critical Outputs To Provide Quality Patient Care By

-Administering medication in accordance with ethical and legal frameworks

-Reviewing and complying with internal policies and protocols

-Ensuring quality management systems and initiatives are conducted according to the unit specification

Skills
-Interacting and communicating with a multi-disciplinary team

-Providing training and development to ensure personal and professional growth.

-Ensuring the Renal team works according to the scope of practice

-Executing doctor's requests and prescriptions

-Assisting multi-disciplinary team members with the execution of their duties

Ensuring the effective functioning of equipment and instrumentation by:

-Checking that equipment and instrumentation are in working condition daily and reporting any defaults to the unit manager and clinical engineer

-Effective record keeping by ensuring records are accurately completed and stored in accordance with legal and ethical requirements

Requirements

-Relevant Degree or Diploma

-Must be willing to fulfill a role in the unit according to the flexi-hours system

-Own vehicle with a valid license
