Clinical Nurse Specialist (theatre)
Job Description
The Operational Clinical Nurse Specialist focuses on the delivery of quality competent nursing care. The incumbent acts as a clinical resource and leader in the theatre environment, performing functions at an advanced level competently and consistently. Key responsibilities: Operational management Advanced clinical care Consultation as a source of expert knowledge Clinical teaching of staff and learners Research Leadership Experience & Qualifications required: Registered as a registered /professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council or equivalent NQF level 7 nursing qualification A post basic nursing qualification in Operating room nursing, together with contemporary skills and knowledge of that specialty. Relevant experience in Cath Lab, Theatre, Cardiac or ICU would be advantageous. Thorough knowledge of theatre nursing theory and practice Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices in the theatre. Sound and contemporary knowledge of the operating theatre, together with an advanced understanding of professional nursing, health care delivery and programme planning PLEASE NOTE: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
