Job Purpose

The Clinical Enrollment Manager (CEM) can perform a range of site optimisation services in order to boost patient recruitment for clients' clinical trials. The site optimisation services include, but are not limited to:



Site Optimisation Calls - the telephone-based coaching of study sites by motivating them to explore recruitment strategies and tactics not yet considered, discuss current challenges and gain a deeper understanding of site processes. The goal of coaching is to help sites increase patient recruitment, offer ideas to mitigate the barriers sites are experiencing and ensure sites feel their needs are being met to support their patient recruitment efforts.




Community Outreach - in-person visits performed either at the site or at predefined locations (e.g. healthcare or potential patient focused environments) within site's catchment area. Prior to the visits, CEM conducts market area research to assist in the logistical preparation. The goal of Community Outreach visit is to boost patient recruitment by increasing the awareness of the clinical trial among HCP and non-HCP, provide necessary information, engage in discussion with predefined stakeholders and disseminate recruitment materials.




Data Entry - onsite visits to support the site with data entry activities with the aim of reducing and/or eliminating defined data entry backlogs. Data backlog may include missing pages, missing visits, missing logs, queries and discrepancies. In addition, CEM may be requested to offer coaching in strategies aimed at improving data management and reducing the possibility of future backlog. The goal of Data Entry is to streamline patient recruitment by tackling data entry backlog and where possible improving data management at the site the service is delivered to.




Chart Review - onsite support with reviewing patient medical charts and patient databases, and aiding with the identification and prescreening of patients for an agreed clinical trial. In addition, the CEM performing Chart Review service may be requested to contact potential study participants on the site's behalf, create a watch and wait list of potential patients, organise patients by priority and aid sites in developing sustained pre-screening practices. The goal of Chart Review is to streamline patient recruitment by assisting in patient pre-screening processes and where possible improving future pre-screening by providing strategies for future pre-screening at the site the service is delivered to.




The CEM should be an individual who has a deep knowledge of patient recruitment for clinical trials and understands challenges that can occur for both sites and patients. This knowledge will provide a successful platform for interacting with sites and other stakeholders (client study personnel, patients, etc).
