Job Description


Experience and qualifications:
Medical degree/ Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery
Registration with HPCSA

  • Clinical research background with Principal Investigator experience is essential
  • Strong management experience in clinical functions within a research portfolio or environment
  • Publications record of at least 5 publications in HIV, TB, STIs and/or maternal research.

An excellent understanding of lab, pharmacy and nursing processes and flows is advantageous
Key responsibilities include:
Serve as a key liaison between the Executive Committee and the Clinical functions of the organisation.
Serve as a key liaison between the organisation and external sponsors of research projects
Ensure that the clinical functions are streamlined and effectively managed to support the strategic objectives of the organisation
Oversee the study investigators and provide relevant training, mentorship, and guidance to the investigator team in order to develop the
overall site research capacity
Will be required to plan strategically, effectively, and flexibly around study-specific requirements and the site's operational
requirements
Maintain a balanced and productive equilibrium in the clinic, across all clinical functions (this would include liaison with nurses, lab,
and pharmacy teams)
Ability to respond to crisis and urgent situations with flexibility, maturity, and resourcefulness
Contribute towards the research and scientific output of the organisation
The candidate will be based in Soshanguve
