Duties/Pligte

• Rendering psychological therapy services to students, specifically students within the Dell Young Leaders Programme;
• Working with students individually but also in groups in a hybrid format (both in person and online);
• Developing and presenting workshops and talks that address mental health issues and promoting a healthy lifestyle amongst students;
• Participating in the Centre's crisis service.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as clinical or counselling psychologist;
• Two years' experience in providing psychotherapeutic services to young adults;
• Excellent communication and language skills in English, as well as another official South African language;
• Skills in offering therapeutic services via online platforms, e.g., Microsoft Teams;
• Computer skills in the MS Office environment.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

• At least one year experience in providing psychotherapeutic interventions (including community service), and specifically experience in the duties as indicated above;
• Experience in multidisciplinary cooperation with medical practitioners and other health professionals;
• Training in short-term psychotherapeutic modalities;
• Training in presenting group therapy;
• Experience in crisis service provision in a psychological context;
• Experience in rendering psychological services within a higher education environment;
• Experience in developing and presenting workshops and lectures on topics related to personal development and self-management;
• Competence in an additional official South African language, other than English.
