R750 xe2x80x93 R850 000 Per Anum Depending on Qualification and Experience

Our Client, a renowned Global Engineering is in search of a Civil Engineering Technologist to be responsible for preparing the final layout and detail drawings for multiple building structures and civil structures.

You are self-motivated, decisive, can work independently, have a keen interest in structural work and possess the ability to produce a high standard of accurate drawings within set deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Management of small projects
• Write technical reports
• Skill transfer to junior personnel
• Draft bid responses
• Price estimations
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and other professional team members
• Quality control throughout the project life cycle
• Regular client contact
• Ability to supervise and manage a construction site from a consultantxe2x80x99s perspective
• Ensure that appropriate technical standards and quality assurance requirements are adhered to
• Apply a deeper understanding of engineering principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems
• Supervision of drawing production ensuring appropriate technical standards
• Be a member of a multi-disciplinary team in project delivery
• Provide technical support and guidance to peers and other functional groups within relevant level of expertise
• Ensuring SMECxe2x80x99s quality standards and management systems are adhered to
• Improve and standardise the implementation of training, design processes and output, implementation procedures and quality control in order to improve efficiency and design standards within the discipline
• Responsible for stakeholder liaison in projects, regarding own portion of work
• Good software tool understanding, works alone with minimum supervision whilst producing tool deliverables
• Taking ownership and responsibility for his/her own work and completing it to time and cost
• Understand local functional business technologies and markets

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• B.Tech Degree / Advanced Diploma at an accredited institution
• Willing to relocate to George
• 10- 15 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in draughting
• Proficiency in software essential
• Broad Civil experience with project management
• Experience in the fields of water, transportation, sewerage, civil earthworks,
• Understands the principles of the design process and how design is translated into deliverables through the use of software tools
• Understand the key project issues and how these influences workflow
• Proficiency in draughting and detailing of:

• Commercial
• Industrial and
• Civil structures.
• Ability to draft technical reports of acceptable technical presentational quality
• Demonstrated understanding of local functional business technologies and markets
• Good software tool understanding
• Ability to organise information well and communicate design intent through software tool output
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles of the design process and how design is translated into deliverables through use of software tools
