JOB PURPOSE
Three vacancies exist within ARRB Systems SA for Civil Engineering Technicians to support our pavement and subsurface investigation projects. The successful candidates will assess geophysical surveys, process and analyse Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data, and contribute to the design, safety, and quality of various engineering projects. This role is based at our Westmead office and requires hands-on, detail-oriented individuals eager to develop their skills in civil and pavement engineering.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Continuously expand knowledge in pavement engineering and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology.
Process and analyse GPR data using Examiner Suite, including importing data, applying post-processing filters, tracing layer interfaces, and converting pavement layers into data point clouds.
Work with Microsoft Excel to manage data point clouds, organise coordinates and layer depths, and prepare client-ready report.
Work with Google Earth Pro and Hawkeye Toolkit to asset pavement GIS data.
Support the team with general tasks, administrative work, and project deliverables.
Adhere to all safety protocols and participate actively in pre-task planning.
Identify and report unsafe activities or conditions to management.
Maintain high-quality standards across all projects and deliverables.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
0-2 years' experience in pavement engineering, civil engineering, or related fields.
Basic understanding of engineering principles and the ability to apply sound engineering judgment.
Familiarity with geophysical equipment, such as GPR, is advantageous but not required.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent report writing and documentation abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Quick learner with the ability to self-train in new concepts and software.
Collaborative team player who takes initiative and ownership of tasks.
Committed to delivering high-quality results to the team and clients.
Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to project demands, including occasional extended hours.
Valid Code EB Driver's License.
