Job Description

Our client in the Engineering industry is looking for a Civil Engineer in the Built Environment to join their department, in Rosebank.

Responsibilities:

• Able to lead teams and junior engineers and modellers.
• Providing technical advice and liaising with relevant professional staff across multiple international locations.
• Take responsibility and accountability for all related design aspects, from conceptional to final design.
• Co-ordinating with other disciplines on a project.
• Quality control on deliverables (including modelling works, data/parameter management).
• Maintain project records in accordance with internal quality system.
• Challenge the team to remain ahead of the technology curve, regarding technological trends, as well as design execution.
• Develop scripts and add-ins to automate repetitive design aspects and/or to check various design compliance aspects (using e.g., Dynamo, Python).
• Experience with managing design teams, to complete tasks and produce high quality deliverables such as drawings, reports, schedules, and calculations on time.

• BSc/MSc or BEng or Btech in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years plus of relevant experience within a consulting engineering business operating within the commercial Built Environment and Land Infrastructure.
• Professionally Registered or about to Register (Pr.Eng or similar).
• A strong background in the lateral design of structures using software such as Etabs, Strand7 or similar.
• Experience with managing design teams, to complete tasks and produce high quality deliverables such as drawings, reports and calculations on time.
• International project experience (outside Africa beneficial).
• A willingness to learn and investigate technological systems and digital workflows.
• A strong interest in working on innovative and complex projects.

• R500 000 xe2x80x93 R800 000 per annum.
