The Technical Artisan is responsible for all civil, electrical or mechanical related systems of the facility, including but not limited to maintenance, repair and installation of equipment, devices and appliances.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Civil or Mechanical Diploma
National Trade Certificate
Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a hospital/healthcare
Computer literacy
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Management of daily job cards.
Knowledge of R158 Building regulations with specific reference to Hospitals and theatre specifications as well as industrial kitchen
A good working knowledge of PFC and stand-by power facilities
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
Good planning and organization skills
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
Willingness to work overtime when necessary
Minimum Job Requirements:
Responsible for civil-related systems of the facility
Repairs, maintenance and supervision of all sewers, hot and cold-water system, structures, furnishings and fitting
Guidance on repairs to water pressurised fire systems
Monitoring and quality control of all contractor work carried out on hospital land and buildings
Safety of all sewers, hot and cold-water systems, structures, walkways, furnishings, fixtures and fittings.
Preventative maintenance planning and implementation, according to company policies and procedures, as determined from time to time
Report on the condition and functionality of the area responsible
Maintaining full and accurate records for all maintenance work and services undertaken on areas under this person
