ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (C&I)

1. Position: Electrical Engineer (C&I)

2. Contract Reference: The Conditions of Contract are the "General Conditions" which form part of the "Conditions of Contract for

EPC/Turnkey Projects ("Silver book") Second edition 2017" published by the Federation Internationale Des

Ingenieurs - Conseils (FIDIC) and the "Particular Conditions" will be applicable and shall be used

6. Project Duration: 48 - 52 Months

7. Scope of Work:

An Electrical Engineer (C&I), or Control & Instrumentation Engineer, focuses on the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical and control systems in industrial settings. They ensure the reliable and efficient operation of processes, including equipment, automation, and safety systems.

8. Key Responsibilities:

Designing and implementing electrical systems for pumping stations, water treatment facilities, and other infrastructure related to stormwater and pipeline management. Working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation equipment.

Instrumentation: Working with sensors, transducers, and other instrumentation devices.

Implementing and maintaining safety systems, such as fire suppression and emergency shutdown systems.

Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols for electrical installations.

Troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues within the system, including pump control systems, monitoring systems, and other electrical equipment.

Maintaining detailed records of system designs, installations, and maintenance activities.

Keeping up-to-date with industry advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field of electrical engineering for C&I applications.

9. Qualifications and Experience:

Electrical Engineer/ Technologist (C&I)

BSC, BEng or Btech

Automation and Instrumentation M-LV Registration

Minimum of 10 years' experience in medium to light current application in water related utility

10. Reporting Line:

The Electrical Engineer (C&I) will report to the Site Design Lead.

11. Performance Indicators:

System Efficiency: Monitoring and optimizing the performance of electrical systems, including energy consumption and operational efficiency.

System Reliability: Minimizing downtime, ensuring the reliability of the systems, and addressing any electrical issues promptly.

Safety and Compliance: Adherence to safety regulations, proper installation and maintenance practices, and compliance with relevant industry standards.

Quality Control: Ensuring the quality of electrical work, adherence to design specifications, and proper documentation.

12. Health, Safety, and Compliance:

Ensure procurement practices align with HSE regulations and sustainability principles.

Maintain ethical procurement practices and prevent conflicts of interest.
