Job Description

Imperium Commodity Search is working with a growing metals trading house Headquartered in UAE looking to expand their operations in South Africa by bringing on a new and experienced Chrome Trader. The position will be based out of their South African Office and require an existing book of business within the Chrome space.
Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with mines in South Africa and surrounding regions for the procurement and sourcing of chrome/chrome ore.
• Maintain close relationships with senior management at relevant chrome mines and suppliers
• Market Chrome products to clients globally
• Assist in the sale/trade flows of sourced chrome
• Leverage on existing relationships with smelters in the target sales region and drive desk PnL through smart off take agreements and sourcing practices
• Keep connected with the relevant metals markets and capitalise on market movements for the timely execution of chrome ore, purchases/supply agreements whilst keeping an ear to the ground for sales side opportunities
• Work with senior management on new products, trade flows and geographies

Experience:

• 5 or more years' experience in a chrome/chrome ore trading position
• Good commercial background and negotiations experience
• Excellent knowledge of the mining industry in South Africa and surrounding region
• Book of contacts and network in the chrome space
• Good knowledge and understanding of global chrome
• Desire to join a rapidly growing trading desks and drive PnL forward
• Good affinity with the South African market
