Manage procedures, applications, interventions and activities within and associated with the Training Division. Key Responsibility Areas
Plans and co-ordinates the operational requirements and priorities relating to the Training Division.
Directs and controls Key Performance Indicators and outcomes of personnel within the area of responsibility.
Develops and implements procedures, systems and controls to manage work practices and outputs so that they are safe, legal and effective.
Co-ordinates and participate in recruitment processes and assessment as indicated by the needs of the employer of the employer.
Determine and propose adjustments to the existing tariff of chares as published by the office of the city Treasurer
Research, design, develop and publish training course.
Develops Training Staff and improves the Training Division and Fire and Emergency Services Department capacity.
Manage correlation sheet
Moderate and/ or verify training course candidates' abilities
Liaises with customers, affiliated industries and fire service industry organisations and Institutions.
Develop and promote the eThekwini Metro Fire & Emergency Service Training Division and training centre.
Records, controls and assume responsibility for the assets of the eThekwini Metro Fire Services Training Centre.
Represent the eThekwini Metro Fire Service training function.
Counsel subordinates' staff to review on-the-job related performance issues
Develop subordinate staff attached to or seconded to the training division
Prepare, arrange, monitor and provide critical reports and feedback on the training function and the needs of the customers.
Participate in forums and bodies related fire and emergency service functions
Undertakes trade analysis.

Essential Requirements
Diploma in Fire Technology or any other related and equivalent qualification
Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code C)
9 years relevant operational experience of which 3 years must be at a supervisory level (e.g. Station Commander)
