The Smart Radio Sensors group require a Chief Technician to perform and lead the design, operations and maintenance of the sub-sections of plants or facilities (nuclear and chemical) and to support the operation and optimization of Necsa's plants and R&I projects in accordance with Necsa, SHEQ, regulatory and nuclear licensing requirements, on a project basis. In-depth knowledge in Electronics, Process Instrumentation, Radiation Instrumentation, Vacuum Technology and Refrigeration Technology is key to support projects. The role will be required to assist in the planning and budgeting of projects along with supervising and training junior technical members of staff.
Key Performance Areas:
Technical Services and Support

Lead and complete the design of systems, independently and while leading a technical team.
Contribute to feasibility studies of a fundamental project within specifications.

SHEQ and Other Audits
Actively utilize the Necsa Business Process Management System.

Responsible for the successful and cost-effective execution of specific tasks relevant to a project.
Assist with the costing of technical items to be used in the budgeting of projects.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
National Diploma in Instrumentation or equivalent.
6 - 7 years' relevant work experience in Instrumentation and Electrical of which 3 years must be in a supervisory role.
