Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Promote institutional quality assurance within the UFS to give expression to the UFS Quality Assurance Policy.
  • Support, implement and monitor the Integrated Quality Assurance Framework (IQAF) and associated Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Provide support to the quality assurance of module evaluations.
  • Track and support all academic quality assurance activities as well as new initiatives throughout the UFS.
  • Administer and coordinate the logistics of quality reviews.
  • Coordinate quality reviews and monitor associated improvement plans.
  • Support and advice for the student success and retention strategy.
  • Report on academic planning and quality-associated activities.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to faculty teaching and learning managers, faculty managers and deans, to support quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Ensure that information about developments in quality assurance in the academic environment, both nationally and internationally, is up to date.
  • Liaise with external quality assurance bodies, including but not limited to the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC) and relevant professional councils.
  • Perform administration and management of tasks of the unit.
  • Participate in AP planning and team meetings.
  • Fulfil all responsibilities regarding performance management.
Inherent Job Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree or an Advanced Diploma/B.Tech degree/Postgraduate Certificate on NQF level 7 or a 3-year National Diploma on NQF level 6.
  • A minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience related to the duties and responsibilities as well as quality assurance associated work in a higher education environment.
Recommendations:
  • Honours degree/Postgraduate Diploma on NQF level 8
  • At least three (3) years work experience in a university environment.
  • Knowledge of university systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Member of a or registration at a professional body.
