Job Purpose
The role is responsible to strategically position SAATs financial status for long term growth and to deliver value to the shareholder.
A key focus of this position is to:

• Communicate SAATs financial progress to all internal stakeholders
• Increase market confidence in SAATs financial capability and strategic intent
• Ensure that the finance function is optimally operational

The CFO SAAT is an ex-officio SAAT board member.
Principal Accountabilities

• Formulate and execution of the Technical and Corporate strategy
• Conceptualization, development and implementation of a fully integrated finance model, strategy and plan for SAAT which is aligned to the SAA Group strategy
• Oversee all operational and financial activities with business support to the CEO SAAT and operational leadership team
• Advise the CEO SAAT and senior leadership of financial planning, budgeting, cash flow investment priorities and policy matters
• Develop and evolve systems for financial planning and analysis and improve the forecasting and reporting process, ensure financial discipline regarding budgetary parameters and early warning systems
• Challenge and improve business performance by helping to identify emerging issues, derive solutions and drive key business and financial initiatives
• Act as a strategic partner to the leadership team and to ensure that the finance function partners with the various legs of the business to ensure financial success of the whole business
• Ensure that the financial model for SAAT is continuously aligned to business requirements with a strong focus on the impact of external and internal factors which may pose a risk to the long term sustainability of the model and the liquidity of the business
• Deliver sustainable business results and provide functional leadership to SAATs Finance division and the overall financial discipline, ensuring that the division is appropriately structured, appropriately resourced and audited on a continuous basis to ensure alignment with the financial plan and to maintain legislative compliance

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree preferably in Financial Management or Business Management or related field at NQF level 7
• Relevant postgraduate qualification e.g. MBA or similar will be a strong advantage
• CA(SA) essential
• 7 - 10 years experience in a senior financial role of a large organisation of which at least 5 years is in progressively responsible financial leadership roles at a senior management level
• Management experience within the aviation, mechanical engineering/ maintenance industry in a senior financial role will be an advantage
• Experience in Diversity Management will be an advantage
• Experience in Funding and/or Treasury will be an advantage
