Job Description

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant post-qualification experience
  • At least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in a franchised or decentralised business structure
  • Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and strategic financial management
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, tax regulations, and corporate governance
  • Experience in stakeholder management, including external auditors, banks, and franchise partners
  • Strong commercial acumen and business partnering capability
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in the motor industry or a similar high-volume, operationally complex environment is highly advantageous
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
  • Develop and drive the financial strategy across the franchise network in alignment with corporate objectives
  • Provide financial insights to support key business decisions and franchise performance improvement
  • Advise on investment opportunities, expansion, and risk management
  • Lead the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) across franchises
Financial Management & Controls
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across all franchise entities
  • Ensure robust internal controls, risk mitigation, and compliance frameworks are in place
  • Drive accurate, timely monthly and annual reporting in accordance with IFRS and internal standards
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and funding strategies across franchise operations
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
  • Act as the financial liaison between the franchise operations and executive leadership, including reporting to the board
  • Maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and regulators
  • Support due diligence, financial modelling, and integration for new franchise acquisitions or divestitures
Team Leadership & Operational Oversight
  • Lead and mentor the finance team across central and franchise units
  • Support the development of systems, processes, and financial capabilities across the network
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of financial goals with operational delivery
  • Monitor and enhance cost efficiency, procurement controls, and profitability initiatives
