Eldorado Fresh Lettuce Producers is a leading fresh produce grower based in Tarlton, Gauteng. We require a self-motivated, experienced CHEP Controller to oversee all of our crate and pallet stock. The ideal candidate will have proven CHEP experience and be willing to meet the demands of an agricultural processing environment, which does not operate on a usual five day a week cycle. Some Saturday shifts may be part of what is expected of this position.

Known for an innovative approach, Eldorado Fresh is the largest producer of crisp lettuce in South Africa. Eldorado Fresh delivers Iceberg lettuce and other varieties of leafy greens to all the major retailers in South Africa, as well as to the fresh produce markets. It is a beginning to end operation built around a nursery that supplies premium quality seedlings, an efficient hydroponic system and a Packhouse capable of producing high quality products.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient and effective control of all CHEP crates and pallets and other packaging. This person will take full responsibility for all planning and movement of CHEP crates and pallets, together with the planning and management of other packing utilised in the processing and dispatch of produce.

Key performance areas:

Responsible for Chep crates and pallet planning Facilitate purchase orders & arrange pickups of crates and pallets Physical stock control: Manage movement (incoming, outgoing and returns) of all CHEP crates and pallets Document control - ensuring proper documentation is in place for all crate and pallet transfers, receipts, dispatches and returns Daily data capturing, ensuring data accuracy and identifying data errors of CHEP Daily stock counts (opening, closing) and reconciliations Monthly and annual stock take CHEP reports (daily discrepancies, weekly, monthly) Work closely with the Finance Department in managing the CHEP account / CHEP Portal Liaison with CHEP customers and retailers and resolving of discrepancies and outstanding queries CHEP audits Customer and packaging supplier liaison

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of Grade 12 Must have CHEP training or Certifications A qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Bookkeeping (advantageous) More than 2 years of relevant industry experience CHEP experience (5 years) Experience in working on myCHEP portal Good understanding of supply chain / logistics / dispatch operations Financial and internal audit experience (advantageous) Strong experience in inventory management and accounting
