Position Overview



We are seeking a passionate and reliable

Cook/Chef

to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have formal culinary training, a strong understanding of bistro-style a la carte cuisine, and the ability to deliver consistently high-quality dishes across

breakfast, lunch, and dinner service

.

This role requires a hands-on team player with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine love for good food and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities



Prepare and cook a variety of

breakfast, lunch, and dinner

dishes to a consistently high standard. Assist in developing and updating seasonal menus and daily specials. Ensure food quality, freshness, and presentation meet WedgeView's standards. Set up and maintain stations with all necessary ingredients and equipment (mise en place). Ensure kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety compliance at all times. Manage stock rotation, storage, and portion control to minimise waste. Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams. Support smooth kitchen operations and maintain a positive, professional work environment.

Requirements



Formal chef training (Chef School Diploma or equivalent qualification). Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a restaurant, hotel, or guesthouse kitchen. Experience preparing both a la carte and plated breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Strong understanding of modern cooking and presentation techniques. Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills. Able to manage a small kitchen team and lead by example. Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
