Job Summary Key responsibilities o Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes within your specialty o Managing and training any demi-chef de parties or commi chef working with you o Helping the sous chef and head chef to develop new dishes and menus o Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety o Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins Required Skills o A cool head o An ability to delegate appropriately o Organizational flair o A grasp of profit margins Qualifications o Diploma in professional cookery o A foundation degree in culinary arts o Any health and safety and food hygiene courses Who would it suit? Someone who's got bags of stamina and enjoys the fast pace of working in a kitchen and hospitality environment. You also need to be able to stay calm and work as part of a team during a frenetic service. You need to be confident enough to manage the commis chefs working with you - and to give them clear instructions.
