The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality food while supporting efficient kitchen operations and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes, menus, and portion standards.
Assist with food preparation tasks including chopping, marinating, and assembling dishes.
Work across various kitchen sections (e.g. hot kitchen, grill, saute, or pastry) as directed by senior kitchen staff.
Ensure food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency meet Sodexo standards.
Support stock control, stock rotation, and proper storage of ingredients in line with FIFO principles.
Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene of kitchen workstations and equipment.
Comply with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations at all times.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
Requirements / Skills
Grade 12 qualification.
Valid South African ID.
Minimum of
3 years' relevant experience
in a professional kitchen environment.
Qualification in
Hospitality or Culinary Studies
will be an advantage.
Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork skills with a reliable and professional work ethic.
Punctual, disciplined, and able to follow instructions accurately.
