Job Summary CHEF DE PARTIE - Wine Estate (Paarl) Our client, a busy restaurant on a well-known wine estate, in the Paarl area, is in need of a hard-working, self-motivated, Chef de Partie to join their team. The ideal candidate for this position is creative, enthusiastic, and passionate about uncomplicated real food. We believe in farm-to-table and supporting local suppliers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES xe2x80xa2 Develop menus and recipes in collaboration with the executive chef xe2x80xa2 Ensuring adequacy of mise-en-place xe2x80xa2 Follow the guidance of the executive chef and have input on new ways of presentation of dishes xe2x80xa2 Put effort into optimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and quality xe2x80xa2 Enforce strict health and hygiene standards xe2x80xa2 Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production xe2x80xa2 Assists other kitchen staff as the need arises xe2x80xa2 Stay current on restaurant and industry trends xe2x80xa2 Identify new culinary techniques and presentations xe2x80xa2 Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation xe2x80xa2 Report the need for maintenance to appropriate staff QUALIFICATION & SKILLS xe2x80xa2 Culinary degree xe2x80xa2 2 years in a professional kitchen xe2x80xa2 Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures xe2x80xa2 Demonstrate knowledge of current restaurant trends, suppliers, and industry players xe2x80xa2 Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions. xe2x80xa2 Maintains a good energy level xe2x80xa2 Good communication xe2x80xa2 Punctual xe2x80xa2 Passion
