We are looking for a junior CDP to join our small kitchen team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the superiors to meet the standard and the quality set by the Restaurant.
Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times.
Able to estimate the daily production needs and checking the quality of raw and fresh products to ensure that standards are met.
Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the specialty section
Assisting the Sous Chef in maintaining menu standards, recipes
Preparation of mis en place
Assisting with the management of health & safety and food hygiene practices
Managing and training Commis Chefs
Monitoring portion and waste control
Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen
Requirements & Qualifications:
Must have at least 2 years' experience as a chef
Confident to run a small kitchen whilst still preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the specialty section
Strong team player, positive attitude
Ability to lead and manage junior team members
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask with strong time-management
Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays
Preference will be given to candidates already residing in Paarl and the surrounding areas
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R6000,00 - R7000,00 per month
