Job Description
Under the supervisory o the Junior Sous Chef, the incumbent is responsible for the preparation and
production of food within a section (a food preparation station) of the catering department, with the
key focus on quality and taste within set production deadlines.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Ensuring adequacy of food supplies at the cooking station in accordance with the daily
requisitioning out of stock items.
- Preparing a variety of meals in accordance with the time pressures set by various events.
- Preparing food presentation, by following the guidance of the executive chief in ways of
- Ensuring food is garnished/ decorated before service by incorporating different textures and
- Serving meals at various functions by coordinating a buffet station and answering gust
- Guiding and coaches casual staff on preparation and cooking methods.
