Chef de Partie (All Kitchen Sections)


Cape Town, Western Cape | Full-Time, Permanent

We are looking for

well-rounded and experienced Chef de Partie's (CDPs)

to join our dynamic team in an upmarket restaurant in Cape Town City Centre. Successful candidates must have solid technical skills and experience in

various kitchen sections

(Hot, Cold, Pastry, Grill, etc.), as well as the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:



Oversee and manage assigned kitchen section(s), ensuring smooth and efficient service. Handle daily food preparation and responsibilities as directed by supervisors. Maintain exceptional standards in food production, preparation, and presentation across all sections. Coordinate daily tasks with the Senior Chef, including production planning and section requirements. Monitor quality and consistency of both raw and cooked products, upholding the restaurant's standards. Contribute to guest satisfaction by ensuring food quality, consistency, and timely service. Follow all standard procedures for food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation. Maintain full knowledge of menu items, recipes, production methods, and presentation standards. Uphold food preservation standards and strict adherence to hygiene, health, and safety regulations. Operate, clean, and maintain all kitchen equipment, promptly reporting any malfunctions. Encourage clear communication and teamwork within the kitchen, supporting a secure and positive work environment. Lead by example in maintaining personal hygiene, cleanliness, and professional conduct. Conduct stock rotation, monitor expiry dates, and ensure proper storage of ingredients. Consult daily with Senior Chef regarding section needs, special functions, and last-minute events. Mentor, train, and guide junior staff members to maintain high performance and efficiency. Provide daily feedback to supervisors and assist with problem-solving during service. Support management with any additional duties or responsibilities when required.

Requirements:



Minimum

2-3 years' experience

in a similar role within a professional kitchen. Well-rounded skills across multiple kitchen sections (Hot, Cold, Pastry, Grill, etc.). Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to manage and motivate a section team. Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Sound knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards. Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently while supporting team goals. Fluent in

English

(spoken and written). Flexibility to work

day shifts, night shifts, and double shifts

as required. Must be able to

reliably commute

or plan to relocate to Cape Town, Western Cape before starting.
