We are seeking a

well-rounded, experienced Chef de Partie (CDP)

to join our upmarket restaurant team based in

Cape Town City Centre

. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation across various kitchen sections, strong technical skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of your assigned section, whether

Hot Kitchen, Cold Section, or Pastry

, ensuring smooth operation and consistency. Execute daily prep and service to the highest standard, following the kitchen's

recipes, plating guidelines, and hygiene protocols

. Work closely with Sous and Head Chefs to meet the daily production plan and contribute to the overall kitchen workflow. Maintain high levels of

productivity, cleanliness, and organisation

within your section. Monitor food quality during preparation and service, addressing issues immediately to maintain consistency. Assist in

training and mentoring junior chefs

, ensuring a culture of learning and teamwork. Adhere to strict

food safety, hygiene, and storage standards

, including proper stock rotation and labeling. Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance needs promptly. Participate in

menu development, tastings, and kitchen planning

as required. Uphold the restaurant's commitment to

, and efficient kitchen operations.

Requirements

Minimum

2-3 years

of experience as a Chef de Partie in a high-end or fast-paced kitchen. Proficient across

multiple kitchen sections

(Hot, Cold, Pastry, Grill, etc.). Ability to

work under pressure

, multitask, and consistently deliver high standards. Solid understanding of food handling, kitchen hygiene, and food safety procedures. Team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. Flexible to work

day, night, and split shifts

, including weekends and public holidays. Fluent in

English

(spoken and written).
