Job Overview:We are looking for a qualified and experienced Chartered Accountant to manage the full financial function of our construction business based in George. The successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, compliance, financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning across all construction projects and business operations.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow management.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage project cost accounting and job costing to ensure profitability and financial control.
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts for projects and departments.
• Ensure full compliance with SARS, VAT, PAYE, and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct internal audits and support external audits.
• Evaluate financial performance and provide strategic advice to management.
• Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.
• Liaise with project managers to track project expenditure and ensure alignment with budgets.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements.

• CA(SA) qualification with active SAICA membership.
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-article experience, ideally in the construction or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax laws.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero, BuildSmart, or Sage).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Based in George or willing to relocate.

• Experience with cost accounting in construction or engineering projects.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and project financial reporting.
