Job Description

Our company is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function, manage risk, and shape the company's financial strategy. This is a hands-on, in-office role suited for a strong leader with a proven track record in the agriculture sector.
Lead and manage the accounts department
Implement and oversee financial strategies, plans, and procedures
Conduct risk assessments of liabilities and investments
Ensure compliance with company policies, governance, and statutory requirements
Prepare monthly management information and forecasts
Oversee cash flow, bank reconciliations, and foreign currency accounts
Manage relationships with partners, vendors, and auditors
Compile annual budgets and financial statements (IFRS for SMEs)
Submit statutory returns and manage compliance with SARS
Support leadership in strategic decision-making
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 10 years' finance experience, with at least 7 years at a senior level
Proven experience within the agriculture sector (non-negotiable)
Strong technical accounting, compliance, and risk management expertise
Strategic thinker with excellent decision-making and leadership skills
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Xero or similar ERP systems advantageous
Qualification:
CA(SA) preferred
BCom Honours in Accounting/Finance
