Cellar Assistants







We are seeking an experienced and hardworking Cellar Assistants/Workers to support our cellar operations. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in a wine cellar, strong technical knowledge of cellar processes, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.



You will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of cellar work to ensure smooth, safe, and high-quality wine production.




Key Responsibilities




Perform daily cellar operations including crushing, pressing, racking, blending, and filtering. Assist with fermentation management: pump-overs, punch-downs, additions, monitoring, and record-keeping. Operate and maintain cellar equipment, including pumps, hoses, filters, presses, and forklifts (if licensed). Clean and sanitise tanks, barrels, hoses, and work areas to maintain hygiene and safety standards. Assist with barrel work, including filling, topping, moving, and washing. Support bottling line preparations and bottling operations as required. Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, and winery protocols. Complete cellar logs, production records, and compliance documentation accurately. Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties in the cellar. Collaborate with the winemaking team to ensure efficient workflow during peak periods.



Requirements & Experience





Minimum Requirements


5+ years' experience working in a wine cellar (essential). Strong understanding of cellar operations, harvest processes, and wine production techniques. Ability to safely operate cellar equipment and machinery where necessary Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in varying conditions. High attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended shifts during peak season.
