Responsible For
About the Role As the on-site Catering Manager, you will supervise a small team and ensure the efficient delivery of daily meals, tuck shop offerings, school functions, and special events. This is a highly practical role-you will not only manage operations but also step in to help with tasks such as washing dishes, prepping food, cooking, and serving when required. You will act as the primary point of contact for the school, ensuring smooth communication and consistently high service standards. What You'll Be Doing

• Overseeing daily catering operations, meal services, and school event catering
• Leading, motivating, and planning schedules for a small, close-knit team
• Assisting hands-on where needed-dishwashing, food prep, cooking, plating, or service
• Ensuring food safety, hygiene compliance, and adherence to school policies
• Managing stock control, ordering, deliveries, and supplier coordination
• Liaising with school staff regarding menus, special requirements, and event needs
• Supporting catering for sports days, staff functions, parent meetings, and special occasions
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen and service environment

Educational Requirements

• Experience in catering, cafeteria operations, or institutional food service
• Strong organizational and people-management skills
• A hands-on, proactive individual who is not afraid to get involved in any task
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with school personnel
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment with changing priorities
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and basic kitchen operations
• Flexibility to assist during school events outside standard hours when required
