To build a more agile and resilient Supply Chain the commoditized execution and digitalization of processes is a key focus whilst driving operational excellence.The repositioning of Supply Chain aims to deliver a strategic commercial front-end that will take the lead in delivering sustainable value to the business. The focus of the global commercial teams (Directs & Indirects) will be on key strategic supplier partnerships, supplier innovation to address technical and sustainability business challenges/opportunities and associated global framework agreements. To create sustainable value, value creation strategies will integrate more traditional commercial value levers with broader technical, safety and sustainability elements that enable the Living Mine. Key sustainability elements include communities, circular economy, carbon neutrality, waterless-mining, and the commitment to sourcing responsibly.-We are currently looking to appoint a Category Specialist - Mining Equipment, to take accountability for managing a specific set of categories, in support of the broader portfolio strategy and business ambition that delivers improved business performance through commercial agreements, enables innovation, supplier partnering and internal stakeholder collaboration. Key accountabilities:Responsible for developing mining equipment category strategies, support input to business cases, plans to ensure security of supply, the advancement of supplier partnering that drives innovation and value, compile and execute sourcing events, support negotiations, establish and execute contracts.Embrace an agile Supply Chain by being adaptive and flexible to accommodate and focus on emerging and changing business prioritiesProject management of key initiativesSupport the development of the broader category portfolio strategy, value creation plans and business cases by providing relevant data, analysis, opportunity assessments and market intelligenceAccountable for the contract over its life cycle and ensure contract administration and performance management activities are executed timely and with qualityEnsure the effective and efficient execution of contracts management activities for allocated portfolio (including the loading of finalized contracts onto the system to enable transactions)#LI-GK1Qualifications-Degree qualified or equivalent with Good technical knowledge across the SC valueSolid experience of developing mining equipment categories.Good technical knowledge across the SC value chainAbility to integrate Commercial, PSC, Supplier Management & Purchasing sub disciplinesSafety & Sustainability as it relates to Supply Chain & Inclusive ProcurementGood commercial, negotiation and deal-making, business case development, investment appraisalCategory Management, sourcing & contracting with Total Cost Ownership approachSupplier Relationship ManagementBusiness Planning, Business Case developmentWorking knowledge of regional and local Inclusive Procurement requirementsAdditional Information-Inclusion and DiversityAnglo American is an equal opportunities employer.
