Position: Category (Sourcing/Procurement ) Specialist - Mining
Industry: Manufacturing / Mining
Location: Phalaborwa - Limpopo
Salary: Market-Related Salary

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

• Developing, Executing, and Ensuring Compliance to category strategies in sourcing to create value by using leading practices in strategic sourcing.
• Working with category buyers to implement a process of sourcing products, material from viable suppliers.

QUALIFICATION:

• Degree Procurement / Supply Chain and Business Management.
• Post Graduate qualification and Procurement Certification will be an advantage.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years Procurement experience in Chemical, Manufacturing, Mining and Mineral processing industries (essential).
• Technical Category Management / Procurement experience.
• Should have knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).

RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Source to Contract and Procure to pay.
• Strategic sourcing (Including Global sourcing and Category Management).
• Products knowledge - Mining and Chemicals Processing.
• Good Practice Procurement Governance and Compliance.
• Financial and Commercial knowledge with strong business acumen.
• Leading practices procurement processes and ERP systems e.g., JDE technology.
• Corporate Governance.
• Relevant South African Regulations and Legislation (E.g., SANS and ISO, Mining Charter, PPPFA, BBBEE, etc.).

Tasks related to supporting the development and execution of category strategies:

• Developing and implementing category strategies in sourcing the commodities and services.
• Managing the source to contract to pay and the processes.
• Establish and manage relationships with key suppliers and outsourced partners and managing the contracts.
• Perform market research and benchmarking to ensure competitive prices are secured.
• Leading and mentoring buyer team members.
• Compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and standards.
