Job Description

We are partnering with a global mining leader to appoint a Category Manager - Mining Contracts to manage high-value strategic sourcing across the business's global operations.
In this role, you will take ownership of strategic procurement initiatives for mining contracts-structuring commercial agreements, engaging suppliers, and driving cost leadership across a complex portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the execution of the global category strategy for Mining Contracts
Lead supplier engagement and commercial negotiations to unlock long-term value
Develop category-specific market intelligence, benchmarking, and analytics
Build and maintain Should-Cost models to inform negotiation strategies
Ensure regulatory and SOX compliance across contract documentation
Collaborate cross-functionally to align category goals with site-level operations
Support budgeting and forecasting of the category portfolio
Track and report on category value delivery (Opex, Capex, TCO, and cost avoidance)
Support the execution of a structured category management playbook (Review, Strategize, Execute, Track)
Profile Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
5+ years' experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or commercial analytics in mining or a heavy industry
Strong financial modelling, cost analysis, and contract negotiation experience
Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and analytics tools
