Job Description
The Ali-works department requires a committed, hardworking and trustworthy individual to join the team as a Casting Operator. The successful candidate will report directly to the Line Manager, Assistant Production Manager, Production Manager and Quality Manager. (SHIFT POSITION)
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Safe operation of the Casting Machine.
- Constant monitoring of Casting Machine.
- Compliance with approved SOP's.
- Manage quality standards in accordance with set targets and guidelines.
- Perform daily checks of casting machinery.
- Ensure smooth operation of billet casting.
- Maintain housekeeping during operation.
- Meeting planned targets.
- Compliance with OSHA and company policies.
- Adhere to shift hand-over protocols at work station.
- Grade 12
- Previous experience in a production / process environment will be advantageous to successful candidates.
- Basic mechanical/technical knowledge.
- Bilingual and literate in communication as well as numeracy (calculation requirements).
- Proactive and quick thinking.
- Ability to work under challenging conditions.
- Must have basic knowledge of Health & Safety Rules.
- In good health, physically fit.
- Committed, hardworking and self-motivated.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Display a professional work approach.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent standards in execution.
- Flexible and willing to work overtime and shifts.
