Job Description
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 with relevant cashiering & sales experience (food retailer ideal)
- Basic PC knowledge and familiar with Point-of-Sale equipment such as electronic registers/scanners
- Good mathematical skills and customer service ability
- Good communications skills and time management ability
- Clear credit / criminal record
- Handle customer transactions via POS machine
- Scan items and ensure pricing is accurate
- Payment collection cash / card
- Issuing of receipts, refunds, change
- Redeeming of any relevant stamps / coupons
- Introduce and cross sell products when necessary
- Assist customer with queries / complaints
- Ensure checkout area is clean
- Bag, box or gift wrap packages when needed
- Handle returns and exchanges
- Willing to work retail hours and weekends when needed
